Position: Display Assistants Open: Primarily May-September, limited year-round openings. Description:Northstar Fireworks is actively recruiting for part-time employees to assist with fireworks displays. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, the ability to lift moderately heavy items and the desire to have fun while learning the set-up, firing and break-down of fireworks displays. This position can lead to the grown of becoming a lead shooter. While a CDL would be nice, it is not necessary. Past experience in pyrotechnics is not necessary, just the desire to shoot fireworks in a safety-conscious setting. While this is a part-time position, a commitment to regular attendance is not necessary. After training, those interested can pick from show dates that span all of New England, New York and surrounding states, throughout the year. Position: Lead Shooter Open: Primarily May-September, limited year-round openings. Description: Must be at least 21 years old. Must remain current with local, state and federal regulations. Pyrotechnicians are responsible for the supervision of all elements of a fireworks display including the setup, firing and break-down Other duties may include, but are not limited to, communication with sponsor and local authorities, ensuring the safety of crew and clean-up of display site. Must have good communication and leadership skills, be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time. Position: CDL-Drivers Open: Primarily May-September, limited year-round openings. Description: Must have valid and current commercial driver's license with hazmat endorsement. Must have valid training certification from Northstar Fireworks and follow local, state and federal regulations. Drivers must keep accurate driving logs and other required Department of Transportation documentation. Drivers will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test and be included in our random drug testing pool. Responsible for delivery of product and equipment to display sites and observing all handling and transportation safety regulations. Position: Retail Sales Open: Year-round openings. Description: Must be at least 18 years old. Must have valid training certification from Northstar Fireworks and must follow all local, state and federal regulations. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, stocking shelves, cleaning, unloading trucks and unpacking retail stock. Must be able to lift 40 pounds, be responsible, reliable and trustworthy. Must have excellent sales and customer service skills. |
